Randomizer, the d’orsay edition

Hey hive!

Just buzzing by to try out the randomizer series! When I look at our photos I’m struck by how much has changed, and how much has stayed the same. For starters, I’ve been rocking blonde hair for over a year now…it’s strange to see myself as a redhead! We’re still lucky to be surrounded by our wonderful friends and family, even if we’re further down I-95 and living in Capitol Hill instead of Baltimore now.

I don’t know if I ever mentioned just HOW many photos there are of Mr.D and I making out kissing. So many, that when my dad wanted to look at the photos in a slideshow I almost died of embarrassment. Word to  the wise, save the kissing for your post-reception festivities. So it’s inappropriate that the first photo is…kissing.

In all fairness—our photographer told us to kiss for this shot…

I’m so happy this is the next photo—all our English family and friends who were able to attend! I really can’t begin to explain how much it meant to us that we were able to share our wedding with them. We’re lucky that we’ve been able to send at least Mr.D over to England twice a year. We’re heading over in a few weeks for Mr.D’s birthday and we can’t wait to see everyone again.

This was the third photo…I don’t know why I’m making that face. All I can tell you is that the photo that precedes it in my files is this shot of Candy Corn. Guess we were having a good time!

Hey look, it’s my bridesmaids! I love that this photo popped up, we only have two photos displayed in our house—the one above and this shot I shared earlier.

At some point in the evening, our photographer asked if I could pose for this photo.

Here I am, reading my vows on scrap paper thanks to my superhero husband. I’m also about to start laughing hysterically—I had trouble remembering what I thought was so funny (though I am a nervous giggler) until I found this post in my recaps.

Aw, kisses from my OZ-MOH :)

We were totally out of light to shoot, but I sent Mrs. Avocado to round up the Bees in an attempt to snag a group shot. I’m so glad these ladies were able to make it! Play the game—how many Bees can you name? Even more fun, name the Bees who have since had a baby!

Oh hey…I’m laughing hysterically again. Is anyone surprised? I didn’t think so…this was taken while we were getting ready before the ceremony. I can’t recall exactly why I was laughing, but it looks like I had a great time!

(all photos are from Evan Bishop)

Last, but most certainly not least is one from our ceremony. Looking at the photos now, I can’t believe I was ever worried about the rain!

Thanks for this post series! I had a great time seeing what popped up and remembering our wedding day. The strongest memory of the day is one that can’t be shown in a photograph—it is the feeling of being surrounded by so many people who love and care for you as a couple and the support that it brings. That feeling is the most overwhelming and fantastic that I have ever experienced. There was so much laughter and love shared on August 28th, 2009 and I truly am so grateful to everyone who was able to share the day with us.

What was your favorite wedding memory?
