What would I like for my birthday?
Biscuit? I think Biscuit is adorable!

In the event Biscuit isn’t available, I think Sydney is pretty sweet.

Or Huxely?

In case you’re concerned that Nick is unaware of my puppy pug obsession. He knows. Oh, he knows. Perhaps I should work on a more realistic list? I guess.
Anywho…
I’d like to meet Shiloh

We aren’t exactly in the right place for a dog, what if Nick goes to work for an agency instead of working at home? What do we do with the dog when we travel? We live in a smallish one bedroom apt-is that big enough? le sigh. No dog for now.

oh but these babies want to go hooooome with you!! okay no i’m kidding, it’s just that they’re so cute. i totally get not being in a place to get a dog. better to recognize that now than after getting a pup, right? but you can still look!

Do you only like pugs? Cos my friend found an abandoned puppy (bull dog/terrier mix) and she needs a home, she’s smart and housebroken.
Anyways, dogs can usually entertain themselves, plus if you do travel, you can put them to doggie care or have your friends/family to take care of them. We bring our pup to my in-laws when we’re traveling.

@Josiah I like all different types of dogs!
I highlighted the pugs because there weren’t any french bulldogs, or other smaller dogs that were in the realm of possibility of petfinder and and other rescue sites. We’d like a smaller dog (around comang size) because of our nomadic nature and apartment living. I’d love a Bernese Mountain dog, but Nick is really not into a dog that big for us.
We also worry that apartments won’t want to rent to us with a dog, esp since we already have 2 cats…

PUPPIEEESSS!!! I had a serious (as in SERIOUS) puppy obsession a few years ago. I *needed* one. Then I came back down to earth and realized that dogs are kind of like really hairy children. And puppies especially. They need so much attention and we’re just not ready to give a dog what it needs. Like you, we have 2 cats and live in an apartment so a dog wouldn’t be possible now anyway. For now I’ll just play with my friends’ dogs

You can have your parents babysit!!! My parents live 1.5 hours away and we take her there. Your parents live much closer to you, yeah? Pups are the best!!!

Pugs are JUST FINE in one bedrooms! B works long hours and I work two jobs. Guess you should get two so they can keep each other company
Seriously though, our 3 are fine in our 800-ish sq ft place. Pugs are great! Only prob is the shedding- hint- black pugs shed less violently. (Yes, I’d describe my fawn’s shedding habits as VIOLENT. She sheds more than my other two black pugs put together!)
Also, I love that you’re thinking of rescuing. Most come potty trained!!

Micah got me a “coupon” for a dog for my birthday. I love her to bits!!! My parents dogsit all the time. They love it. Sometimes my Dad comes over just to see her.

You haven’t given up hope! Good for you. I think you can have a dog in your apt. Although how will the cats feel about it?

Oh my goodness! Shiloh makes my heart melt. My husband and I have come to the agreement no puppies until we have a yard, but my stipulation is that our first puppy is a pug! I’m a spaz, and totally have names picked out for my future furbaby (both a boy and a girl name, I have all of my bases covered!)
